This comes together pretty quickly. The sauce can be made in a larger quantity and stored in the fridge so its ready to use anytime.
What You Need
- 1/4 cup gluten-free soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 T. corn starch
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tsp. sesame oil
- 1/2 T. sesame seeds
- 1-2 tsp. sambal oelek, optional
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into chunks.
Directions
Mix the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar together in a saucepan bring to a simmer. Mix the cornstarch and water together in a separate bowl. Add to the sauce and stir – continue to cook until it starts to thicken. For a little extra spice and 1 – 2 tsp of sambal oelek.
Season the chicken breasts with some garlic powder and place in the air fryer and cook. Once the chicken is done you can add it to the sauce or place it in a serving bowl and pour the sauce over the top. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
If you have extra sauce allow it to cool and place it in an airtight container in the fridge.
Serve with rice and veggies. I prefer frozen rice from Whole Foods. It cooks in the microwave in minutes.
